How safe is the new filling BodyBeads®?
The Eye Doctor® filled with BodyBeads® has been tested to BS8433:2004 and has also had additional 'abuse' tests which shows us that it can be overheated in the microwave, in excess of 80 times the recommended heating time and for several hours longer than recommended when heating in the oven. This gives us peace of mind that in the event of individuals accidently overheating the product, it will not burst into flames within minutes of overheating.

Are all hot eye compresses independently tested?
It is not a legal requirement to conduct a British Standard heating test on products that are Class 1 medical devices. However, we chose to do the test for our peace of mind. We believe, The Eye Doctor® is the only hot eye compress on the market currently, which has passed independent safety tests.
